Election for US House of Representatives on November 6, 2012.

The 8th congressional district of Ohio will hold an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012.

Voter registration: Voters had to register to vote in the primary by February 5. For the general election, the voter registration deadline is October 7.[1]

Incumbent: Heading into the election the incumbent is John A. Boehner (R), the current Speaker of the House, who has represented Ohio's 8th congressional district since 1991. In 2012, he will be challenged in the primary by Tea Party candidate David Lewis[2]

This will be the first election using new district maps based on 2010 Census data. Ohio's 8th congressional district is located in the western portion of the state and includes Darke, Miami, Clark, Preble, and Butler counties.[3]
