It is a ruse. Write-in votes will not be tabulated. Those pushing for it are trying to split us by giving us a guilt trip (a.k.a. "Paulier than thou"). No write-in votes will be counted. And, if they are in a few counties in a couple states, no one will ever know.
We have enough problems with computers - do you actually think that Ron Paul write-ins will be any advantage to the movement?
I thought about writing in Ron Paul in '08 - but Baldwin convinced me that we were close in philosophy and ideals, so I voted for him. The same claim could be made that he wasn't going to win - the same claim that the GOP slackers (Wisdom, etc...) are making in terms of Johnson.
I will only vote my best conscious effort - but only if my vote will be counted. An individual moral victory is nice, but I would rather be at the whip of the GOP/Communists when Romney loses. They are going to blame us no matter what - why not give Johnson a chance to get enough votes so all media sources say "Ron Paul people may have cost Romney the election". Yes!!! (just to be clear - I agree with Johnson on most issues, minus the FAIR tax, but I've never been an absolutist). If you want a way to poke a stick in the eye of the GOP, any vote other than a write-in is the only way.
"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain
