The gov has been trying to attain an "Internet kill switch" for the President for the past few years. They say it's to protect critical government networks & such, but they could easily have an internet kill switch just for that. No reason they should be wanting to cut off our personal communications in order to protect critical networks... unless cutting off our personal communications is the whole point, which I believe is a very real possibility. They want to have the kill switch in place just in case the gov ever considers it necessary to cut us all off from being able to contact each other.
