I don't think it will cut through the cognitive dissonance. I don't even know if a longer ad showing the victims of drone strikes would.
I wish I knew a way to make people in the USA see the humanity of those overseas. To get them to understand that they are like us. I just don't think this ad does it.
I might take another tactic with Iran. There's a solid car culture in Iran. One that likes american cars. I'd appeal to people's pocket books and try a peace-through-trade approach. Take a youtube video of someone doing a burnout in an old Pontiac and then shock them with a pan out or something that shows it's from Iran. With a message of roughly would you like to pay taxes to bomb them or make money selling them cars?
