People I know who have run

People I know who have run for office or have worked inside the two party system say they are very aware of the ratio of votes cast for their candidate vs vote cast for anyone else or not at all. What matters to them is the discrepancy, not the actual third party candidate. So, writing in Ron Paul will be equally as effective as voting for GJ in this regard.

Some of us still believe that Dr. Paul is the best man for the job, and if write ins are counted in some states then that is a valid vote. Even Dr. Paul recognizes that writing in his name is a valid option, though he does admit that he's not likely to win that way.

Bottom line is that each of us will do what we feel best, and the two parties will notice, regardless of whom we vote for, that the vote didn't go to them.
