Science is not dogma.

Science is not dogma. To help explain this, let's first look at the dictionary definition:

dogma |ˈdôgmə|
noun
a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true : the Christian dogma of the Trinity | the rejection of political dogma.
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: via late Latin from Greek dogma ‘opinion,’ from dokein ‘seem good, think.’

See, the difference with science is that if a better model is introduced, the science is able to change to reflect new data. Religion doesn't change. It simply defers to a magical deity and explains things are what they are because "it's God's will."
