That's why drugs need to be DEcriminalized, not legalized. Because legalization is condition of legality, condition of law, meaning that drug growing/manufacturing, selling and using is in that environment, the law. So, the government will be permitting who can grow, sell and use. If you don't get its permission, tough tootsies for you.
DPers, many of you are overdue on comprehending the difference between legalization and decriminalization. While decriminalizing drugs, respect for private property must be upheld in at least the court room. If the courts don't protect private property -- mind you, property of such that's No. 1 is you, your body -- then society, I think, will get out of control.
For the legalization proponent, the starting point is this: definitions. Please, go read and THINK about their definitions. Helpful to do the following exercise where law is concerned: Ask yourself, Where is the individual in relation to the government: Is he initiator, is he re-actor and what can, therefore can't, he do because of the government's involvement?
