This is what I'm talking about: "the right thing"

...there's nothing ethical/unethical about voting. I'll repeat:







PAPER is an essentially meaningless task, unless it translates into something real on the other end. If your vote is not going to be counted, you would be "doing the right thing" equally by going out into the woods and whispering "I like Ron Paul" to an oak tree.

I say there's a democracy fetish because apparently people don't see voting for what it is, they look at it as some kind of sacred ritual, hence all the nonsense about "doing the right thing," as if they've acted ethically by writing a name on paper.
