Comment: It was Jerusalem

In reply to comment: Sounds like the end of America (see in situ)

It was Jerusalem

Jerusalem was Babylon.

How the faithful city has become a harlot! It was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers. ~ Isaiah 1:21

People who see a future fulfillment seem to forget that the Revelation was a letter written to the seven churches at the time about what was to happen "soon." John even gave them significant clues as to who the Beast was and told them to, "with wisdom," calculate his number (Revelation 13:18). No way could the first Christians be given clues and come up with someone born over 2,000 years in the future! Nero was also known as the "beast" and "tyrant" who murdered Christ's Apostles and was the first to persecute the Church.

The early Church knew that the fall of Jerusalem was to come in their lifetime, just as Christ said would happen. That's why the early Christians in Jerusalem fled just before Jerusalem fell, as Christ instructed them to do (Matthew 24) -- an event that Josephus, who was not a Christian, recorded.

I've found that the biblical and historical evidence to be overwhelming that the Book of Revelation was written before, and almost entirely about, the fall of Jerusalem and the End of the Mosaic Age in 70 AD.
