The MIC owns the GOP
The MIC owns the GOP leadership. The MIC won't allow Rand to be the GOP nominee in 2016, because Rand isn't a neocon. Rubio, Cristie, Jeb have nothing to do with it (other than that they are all acceptable neocons.)
Lots can change between now and 2016, but if the world is anything like it is today, the 2016 GOP nominee will be someone who SOUNDS like Rand, but by no means will it BE Rand. The MIC would never allow it - Rand would be too dangerous to their pocketbooks.
Rand COULD be an acceptable VP candidate, but only if the MIC is desperate, and if anything happened to the President while Rand was VP, Rand too would be toast.
