The communism that the OP is referring to

is different from Marxism. In the New Testament, the new believers in Jerusalem earned their waged and bought their goods from capitalists. They then put it all in one big pot and distributed it to each person and/or family as they had need. They weren't centrally planning production of capital and consumer goods, so, they difn't have to worry about economic calculation.
