I get your point but there is

I get your point but there is no reason that someone's fantasies must be acted upon. The pedophile can imagine his weird desires all he wants, but the moment he acts them out he is committing a crime against another human. I'm talking about true pedophilia, not those stupid cases where the girl is 17 and the guy is 24.

Personally, I have sympathy for cases where the sex is consensual and the underage person loves the older person like in instances where the teacher marries the teenage student. But most cases are about lust for an immature child or toddler and that is wrong. I have met plenty of messed up adult gay men who got their start when they were molested as young boys by adult or teenage boys.

Further, I haven't heard of any program to rehabilitate pedophiles as being successful. So the idea that society could give them the infrastructure to help them with their urges is just way too generous.

My dad says that if the penalties weren't so high for pedophiles then they wouldn't be as likely to kill their victims. I disagree because I think the ones that kill their victims think of their victims like toilet paper and may enjoy the murder aspect of it as well as the abuse. Pedophiles are like serial killers to me because they destroy a young person's mind and life and they may have countless victims. I think they should be shunned in every way imaginable and get the worst type of punishment available.

When I was a kid I met a man at a bus stop and he told me and my friend that he just got out of prison. We asked him what he did and he told us that he killed a man who had raped his 8 year old daughter. I couldn't blame him a bit.
