Too bad the stick is ours. Reading between the lines they appear to be saying "Without the US ground forces, we cannot beat Iran and will have no choice but to Nuke them, because we don't want to have allot of casualties and lose".Unspoken - US you don't want us to Nuke someone because you didn't help do you?
If we cut ties with them they would not make threats to anyone except the poor palestinians. If they made a move against Iran without us they would likley be overrun.
