Neat idea, it will be tough for liberals
I like the idea.
Liberals, in my experience, seem to have a tough time understanding the benefits of more local government. Even in my very liberal Massachusetts where we have gay marriage, universal corporate care, misdemeanor cannibis, the liberals don't seem to value that they are more successful achieving their goals here than at the national level.
Progressives should love this I think, but they don't seem to get it. Some might say it is a desire for more mastery, but in my experience they haven't even thought it through.
In fact, much of political facebook post, for example, are mostly about tidying up mistakes people make about what the federal govt does vs the state and city. e.g., if you are against Obama than you hate school teachers and the like.
