These petitions do not show up on the public list at the petition site until they get 150 signatures, it needs about 75 more to reach that point. The US is not a state as in one of the Several States, correct. Neither is this any kind of legal petition, its symbolic.

There is a problem with the States seceding without destroying the Head. You will still be a US Citizen if Washington DC remains. The United States claims JURISDICTION over all US Citizens, no matter where they live in the world.

14th Amendment 1st Clause: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

A study of the US Codes reveals that they interpret this "State" as meaning ANY State, not just the Several States, worldwide.
