I think Ron Paul’s point (or points) on the raw milk issue are largely symbolic, but each of us may have a different perspective. Mine, and I suspect his, is that the federal government should not be involved in this issue at all. Public safety, for most part, is a state issue. If the FDA wants to publish their scientific research on a website for public health authorities around the nation to decide local health laws, fine. I believe the same philosophy would apply to questions of medical marijuana, hemp, light bulbs, TSA, drug laws, commodes, and many other things not mentioned in his list of rhetorical questions. It’s about where these authorities are granted to the federal government in the Constitution?
