The steel temperatures that

The steel temperatures that NIST took were about 250 C - that is data from the actual steel. In their computer models they made the steel reach above 1000C although the evidence didn't suggest the temps were that high. Most of the jet fuel was ignited during the fire-ball.

NIST said: "limited exposure if any above 250 ºC."
