I am having a hard time getting past the first sentence:

"The Fig tree is Israel. the Lord always used the fig tree when speaking of the Nation of Israel. " of the sermon.

So, I ask the question, "Did Jesus always used the fig tree when speaking of the Nation of Israel?"

And I start looking. It seems like he used the vineyard as well? Matt 21:33 begins a parable using a vineyard for Israel.

And I cannot tell that the fig tree in all of these references refer to Israel: http://www.biblestudytools.com/search/?q=fig+tree&c=nt&t=kjv...

How do you know "No doubt at all that Christ was talking about the nation of Israel when He said "Now, learn a parable of the fig tree" begining in Matthew 24:32" for certain?

vs 33 follows: http://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/gills-exposition...

I can see the fig tree putting on leaves as a parallel example to birth pangs. When you see these things happening that I have spoken about earlier, know that the end is soon.

So I am still having a hard time knowing that the nation of Israel being restored is prophetic fulfillment necessary for the return of Messiah. I still need to study. Thank you Brother Holbrook for your time and help on my behalf, and I hope, your patience with me as well as I question. I hope that I have not sounded disrespectful. It is not my intent. I am only telling you what I am struggling with.

And I suppose I am still trying to find my bearings in some areas.
