Sorry, you are lying. No, "many" atheists do not oppose religious liberty. I am around and communicate with many, been on atheist forums, read blogs, and none, and I mean none, have ever said anything against religious freedom. So, you claim you heard "one" on this site (with no reference). That would be one out of several million - totally justified to say "many".
Which, of course, makes your second claim a complete lie as well. You were never an atheist. It is OK, you are part of an overwhelming majority on the Earth. But, please don't lie about being an atheist to justify your previous lie that "many" oppose religious liberty. I'm sure you will come back with some "I was searching" claim.
And, using the term "self-described" is rather silly I must say. I never "describe" myself as atheistic. The only time it comes up in my life at all is when countering lies and propaganda about people like myself on DP.
"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain
