WELL, as a Guy who use to work on these.
I do not know the specifics of the mission, nor did I find any interests in looking into it, due to the fact I knew it was BULLL CHIT from the beginning. There are several types of helicopters that have a range of more than 8 hours. ALSO, MH-60 is MID AIR refuel capable. This can easily be seen in the movie Perfect Storm with george Clooney. This is the same type of helicopter that was in Black Hawk Down.
The Airforce Special ops and the Army Special operations helicopters are ONLY limited by the oil consumption of the engine due to their mid air refuel behing a C-130. There are SEVERAL missions that are recorded in excess of 12 hours.
A most likely scenario, is the spec ops birds that carried the seals in, were launched from afghanistan, performed the bogus mistaken identity assasination mission, then traveled to the ship mentioned above.
IF ah-64's were used, they do have a limited range, as they do NOT have mid air refueling, they were launched from afghanistan, then returned back to afghanistan. If the Apache was used, it would only be necessary at the attack zone, and would not escort the birds out to the ship. AH-64 is NOT designed for ship based use, as they do not have a rotor brake, nor quick folding blades, nor a folding tail as some of the Pave/black/razor black hawks. Apaches only have a pilot and gunner. They have NO cargo/pax area.
Take it from me.
Freedom may be worth searching for.
I have given up on my fellow Americans, (not DPers) as I will not shed one more calorie trying to awaken anyone else who is not a critical thinker and does not have the inherent feeling that something is wrong with
