If you have actually watched any of the documentaries on 2012...
you would find that most of the "experts" talking about 2012 (many with doctorates) suggest the Mayans were predicting a "shift in consciousness" rather than a literal "end of days". Some are predicting cometary showers, such as those already seen in India. If the latter is true and they are as bad as those which created all the damage in the Carolinas at some point in our history, then we are in for some really rough times, if not the end of civilization as we know it. Certainly, the rapid occurrence of "superstorms," "blood rains," "megaquakes," fireballs, tsunamis, massive solar eruptions and massive fish and bird kills are ominous indicators SOMETHING may be about to happen.
