Your invalid assumption, SteveMT, is..

that extinction events kill all life and then life starts over from ground zero. That's never been the case. Extinction events, like an asteroid impact, kill off large populations of some things. The survivors fill the void and from the lack of competition, among other reasons, their numbers increase quickly. There has never been the claim that all life on earth has been wiped out, and new life started over again.

Even without major extinction events, there are many global environmental changes that could favor one species over another. Some flourish, some go extinct naturally. Humans could, leaving plenty of other animals to flourish.

So Steve, and I hope you'll answer this, are you saying that God put ALL species that have ever existed, on the earth at the same time? Or did he come back frequently and put new species on the earth?
