I attended an investment seminar featuring Steve Forbes and was fairly impressed with his knowledge until the Q&A. He was a lot better at a rehearsed speech but didn’t show enough breadth or candor when under the light of controversy. I recall Forbes supported Ron Paul in Texas during congressional races, and he speaks well of Ron Paul relative to monetary policy. But when Forbes endorsed Rick Perry and said he didn’t like Ron Paul’s foreign policy, my respect for his intelligence and intellectual integrity went flying out the window. I mean comparing Rick Perry to Ron Paul on monetary policy alone is like comparing an annoying blood-sucking flea to a smart dolphin, there’s just no comparison, and what was Forbes thinking?! Forbes: "I think at the end of the day Perry will win the nomination, and I think he'll win the election." Enough said.
