Glad to see this officer getting some love.

Lately I've been going out of my way to praise police officers I witness upholding their oaths.

Incident #1. Bad cop was upset because our music at a tailgate was too loud for him. He called a noise complaint himself and then responded to his own complaint (unbelievable). Then he came storming up on our property and started walking in the front door. I tapped him on the shoulder and said "you do NOT have permission to be on this property." He turned around, walked back out the front door and got in my face, then my friends pulled me away and somehow got him to leave.

Then a few minutes later two other good cops came up and were half flabergasted and half-laughing. They said "we have no idea who this rookie his. We reported him. Sorry and he did that. He won't be coming around here again. Have fun at your party."

I thanked the one good cop I saw the next week. He said he likes Ron Paul but doesn't know that much about him.

Incidence #2. I saw a drunk asshole yelling at a cop on the street and borderline assaulting him. The cop calming but forcefully pushed the kid back and told him "I can't beat the shit out of you right here and there is nothing you can do about it. Go home right now." Then he went back to his partners and stood there quietly as the crowd yelled at the kid to get out of there. The kid left. It is a rare time when I ever root for the police in a situation like that, but I wouldn't have blamed the cop for socking him. The kid started it.

I walked right up to the group of cops and thanked for showing restraint against that asshole and that they were doing a good job. They kind of just glared at me, but screw I figure if they get positive feedback for doing the right thing maybe they will keep doing it.
