think how much more amazing it would be if...... we are the only planet that has life on it?

Strange how being insignificant in a vast sea is more compelling to us than the idea we could be the most significant beings in a vast sea. I wonder if the birds feel guilty because they can fly or the fish feel guilty because they can swim? Maybe they feel thankful for their uniqueness? I would say if we do find other life out there we will either kill it to steal its wealth, because it threatens our pride, or to eat it. The world use to be vast and now it is small and insignificant. I'm sure we will shrink the universe to be in our likeness and image as well. Would having the ability to destroy planets and galaxies make us insignificant or unique?
