Keep a dream diary next to your bed and learn yoga or similar

After keeping a dream journal for about a month, I was starting to enjoy lucid dreaming on a small scale. After three months, I could control my dreams. Haven't been disciplined or relaxed enough lately to enjoy such liberating sensations.

The best benefit of all, for me, to lucid dreaming is that I have not had a single nightmare in the 26 years since I learned this technique.
