That is unfortunate.

As I state below, fracking is a step taken for what I believe to be purely selfish, greedy reasons. Not only is fracking a dangerous practice that contaminates our water tables and our fresh drinking water, but as shown by the parallels drawn in this thread - it also destabilizes our terra firma. Fracking is an unnecessary step taken by a dying industry that is desperate to profitize a waste product. Fracking is not necessary to produce natural gas. The steady flame of burning natural gas is a familiar sight at oil wells because methane gas is actually a by-product of oil production that is burned off as a waste product.
