Nothing could be further from the truth.

Reagan HATED H W. He was his strong adversary during 1980 Republican primary. Reagan even called out H W's disgusting CIA activities, Trilateral Commission during one of the primary debates...Video of this:

Reagan's assassination attempt soon after he became president was engineered by H W, using his CIA connections....not too differently compared with JFK.

H W was imposed as Reagan's running mate due to his CIA connection. During Reagan's time, all the undesirable activities of military industrial complex (abuses in Central/South America including Panama, Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Iran Contra etc.) had H W's hands all over them.
