Comment: “I don't think that it is

(See in situ)

“I don't think that it is

“I don't think that it is wrong to point out that the pricing of things according to "that which the market will bear" is, as Warren says, Civilized Cannibalism, not because people each eat other, but because people are thereby inspired to make power scarce for other people, instead of making power abundant for everyone.
Does that make sense?”
If two people are trading with each other unhindered, is not the culmination of the trade that which the market will bear?

• Proverbs 20:14 KJV
It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer : but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth .
“Why is that not easy to see?”

Because even though I did read Spooner’s Trial by Jury I forget to apply the principles when dealing with thoughts on economy. It is as if everything is compartmentalized and I fail to meld the forces of liberty into a single operating system.
Tell me it isn’t so, not the land…
“In the case of the few people who own most of the land, for example, it may be a good idea to figure out if those where ill gotten gains.
Following the money, to the source, may be the same end point as following the land patents to the source.
I don't know, land titles or patents, are new pieces to the puzzle for me.”
It is evident to me that Menger’s words “every individual will”

Should have been: “…some people might…”

Truly there have been people who have starved themselves to feed others:
“Lottie loved the Chinese, and when a severe famine overtook the land, Lottie stopped eating, giving away her precious rations to feed the starving.”.

That example being an extreme does show that people will put their needs on hold while helping others or will trade equitably so that both parties benefit equally.

So, now my question, what exactly was Menger purposing with his ill-conceived dictatorial statement of fact?
The last questions (about getting out of bed and improving) were directed at me. My doc and I decided to cut my med in half because I was feeling like I didn’t HAVE to do anything. So after a month and a half I have somewhat hit bottom feeling like I WANT to do NOTHING once again at Christmas. It is not a good place to be. Maybe we should have doubled them…lol, but smile bear is hibernating.
"the power that worketh in us"

Each individual in each individual case?
It is very individual.
