Thank you mdefarge for your time. I appreciate it and feel abit ashamed for taking you from your work. I do respect your opinion. I have been around the block with many Dpers here in this post on this issue. Some people even think if some kind of life legislation were passed it would cause federal intrusion into the lives of pregnant women. I mention that to my husband and he could see it. At first I was OK in my thinking about federal legislation, but after that decided that perhaps that is why Ron Paul’s legislation for state control was significant. No one even co-sponsored with him on Sanctity of Life, but the legislation for Life at Conception has many house and senate sponsors.
I am having a hard time understanding the difference between Ron & Rand’s legislation. Both make conception the point of life. Rand’s legislation calls to the 14th Amendment of the constitution rights. Ron’s legislation did not. However, if the 14th amendment applies then I cannot see why Ron’s legislation would not have the same impact federally. Ron’s legislation specifically calls out the right to the state to protect life.
So, my intelligent friend, in your spare time, and I mean spare even if it is not well into next year, can you please help me understand the difference. I will give links to make it easier on you.

I see abortion on demand as a coarsening of affection toward human life which can easily lead to euthanasia, especially now with Obamacare. Do you have any thoughts along those lines?
There are people already debating whether a new born contains qualities of personhood. So even if we think life begins at birth there are those who will not stop at birth.
