This doesn't make any sense. So they can reach LA. Then what? Why would they even dare do such a thing if they can't make it part of a barrage to reach even a second city? Why would they try to sting the bear?

This is a distressing mentality that our country isn't safe enough unless we've disabled every other country on the planet and can wipe them all out if we had to.
