Because
Religion became what they thought it was rather than what it was. It is kind of strange, but this is true. Modern day Calvanists use Calvin's private writings to distance themselves from their Anabaptist brothers. I say they agreed on everything because to me the Lord's Supper is everything to me. It is the heart of Christianity. Removing said heart has drastic theological consequences.
