Comment: Faith is the belief in something GREATER than man.

Faith is the belief in something GREATER than man.

Faith is the belief in something GREATER than man.

To begin with : greater than ONESELF - he/she who believes - but no one should feel forced to.

Encompassing MANKIND as much as the universe itself.

NOW :

What is government ? (Or what it should be)

A building and men sitting in it, chosen by others to (presumably) protect the texts ALL have agreed upon.

Government is NOTHING but AN ARTIFACT of MAN AS A "SOCIAL CREATURE" - for whom a MINIMUM AMOUNT OF ORDER is necessary, to not degenerate in TOTAL CHAOS when there is NO order at all.

And I insist on MINIMUM amount.

Because, at the opposite end, a MAXIMUM ORDER becomes synonym for TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT of the many by a few, at the very top, with enough of critical mass of minions to coerce, subject everybody else.

Hence :

ALL MEN being corruptible you REALLY, REALLY DO NOT WANT Reed's Law to apply to their CORRUPTION WEIGHT POTENTIAL :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reed's_law

Indeed you REALLY, REALLY DO NOT WANT it to apply to BIG GOVERNMENT AND ITS FLOODING OF UNJUST, PERVERTED LAWS.

The SIMPLE, LIMITED Constitutional Texts = the Foundations. That is, ALL that really matters for the people living upon these.

Example of such texts : the U.S. Constitution and the first 13 amendments. While the 14th and up are MUCH QUESTIONABLE.

Faith in god = faith in government (???)

is like saying :

A man's entire life = his daily opening the fridge in the morning.

Rather far fetched, isn't it ? Well, that's on purpose.

But it is obvious enough, I believe, that nobody in their sane mind would want - ANYWAY - THEIR DAILY OPENING THE FRIDGE to define their entire life. Especially when opening the fridge has become synonym for abiding to laws enforced by (too big) government.
