"The industrial age is terminal because of the low hanging fruit principle. Economic growth is at an end. And if you think alternative sources of energy will bail us out, reread the above quote from theautomaticearth.com about fire."
Just because someone said something at theautomaticearth.com about fire, doesn't necessarily make it true. It has been prophesied that natural methane gas will soon be our "fire", and that is one low hanging fruit that is "free" and limitless. Methane gas is a by-product of oil production which is burned off as a waste product. The only reason it has not been used up to now is because the 1% have decreed that there is no profit in it. Although there is currently a push to make the "mining" of natural gas profitable through the dirty business of hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking" - that method is being exposed and will be short-lived.
The power of the 1% is what is actually "terminal", and the end of their power is at hand. So your sympathies to the younger generations because their "entry into life was badly timed" is unnecessary. We are entering into a new and exciting time where the quality of human life, rather than the profits of the 1%, will determine the way things are done, and your fear mongering is for naught.
