Without writing a thesis...

1)Corporations are connected to the government, they're in and out through the revolving door. They are buying priviledges. They get to spend the newly created money from the FED first, when it's at full value.

2)The regular folks real wages, since the inception of the FED, haven't kept up with inflation, and the value of their savings gets eroded away by this same process.

Inflation is an insidious thing that takes its toll over the course of many years. The middle class didn't disappear overnight, it took many years for it to be wiped away.
