The 'Thank you for your service" is just another way to cover up the atrocities. Most 'troops' are lied to. And if you show your support you are continuing the lie only to not upset the 'trooper''s feelings.
Maybe it is time to start complaining to 'troops' what they are doing, with examples and info so they can study it themselves.
Troops should be ashamed for what they do, not proud.
The more ashamed they will be the more they will think about what they are doing. 'Following orders' and joining the military out of economic necessity does not give the right to kill people, unless it is a real and declared war.
If you say 'thanks for your service" it is time to question your own knowledge.
Sizing down the military to a defensive force has the highest priority.
