The HongShang Gold Smuggling Outfit is a classic crime op

The HongShang Gold Smuggling Outfit is a classic crime operation. The Hongkong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) was founded after the end of the second opium war. Its task was to handle the silver and gold paid by Chinese to buy British opium.

After WWII, the HongShang specialised in gold smuggling from out of Red China, as well as continuing the opium trade, this time laundering money INTO China in exchange for opium exported OUT of China from the hills of Yunnan.

Coming or going, HSBC has always made a killer profit on dirty money flows. That HSBC has manipulated paper gold prices is just another notch in their belt of evil.
