Is from one of my childhood favorites, Karate Kid. Pat Morita was always yelling at danielson to learn balance. As much as it seems symbolic of something else, it is just my infatuation of 80's feel good movies. But you are right, very hard to be balanced when addicted to something.

I also like new balance tennis shoes...so karate kid and shoes that's where the screen name comes from. New Balance does still have some factories in the US. However, with Obamacare, I think they are considering moving elsewhere...
