My TV's are about 20 years old
Product placement in the shows (the shows are commercials in themselves), commercials and blatantly calling it "programming". It's called programming for a reason, eh? Even the "news" is programming.
I used to despise it as well but have come to terms over the years about what it really is, so I do watch some stuff online now. Once my tube TV's die I will get a new TV that I know will last a long time, but by then I will probably have to pay more to dispose of them than for a new disposable TV.
