No, This is one of the areas where libertarians lose the plot
There are some areas where self-proclaimed modern libertarians lose the plot imo.
Read carefully the arguments on this thread that point out the following things:
- the Constitution applies to the US, and citizens of the US
- Piers Morgan is a foreign citizen
- A foreign citizen using a public bully pulpit to campaign against the Constitution of the US - particularly bedrock principles of such right to self defense - can be characterized as Sedition
- Sedition is grounds for deportation.
This is not about being 'nice', understanding libertarians, protecting an innocent individuals right to free speech as guaranteed to Americans.
This is a multinational news corporation using a foreign national as a propagandist mouthpiece in OUR country - and HIDING behind the 1st Amendment to justify advocating dismantling the 2nd
Because make no mistake about it:
Piers Morgan and the interests he works for are doing just that.
Consider the consequences carefully, and get your libertarian philosophy straight before you take their side in this.
