Tithes are not meant to be

Tithes are not meant to be income, but for assistance to the needy.

Tithes given to a true church (as opposed to a tax exempt non profit organization) are tax deductible from the donors tax return.

Churches do not need to file for tax exempt status. They are by their very nature tax EXCLUDED. It is when they file for this tax exemption status that they cease to be a church and become instead a Non profit organization. The IRS's literature even states this very clearly, but then continues to explain that a Church may want to file this status in order to gain OTHER benefits (such as free postage and other very minor ENTICEMENTS, dainty meats)
