According to Christian dogma
you're born a sinner due to "original sin" and "the fall of man." So the only way to obtain a ticket to salvation is to "believe" that Christ is your savior. Hence a person who commits mass murder, rape, torture, burns down cities, steals $billions can be saved by "believing" and an ethical man who works his whole life selflessly helping others is condemned simply because he can't make himself believe. It's absolutely ridiculous.
