Your analyses assumes the GOP bigwigs want what they say they want. In reality, Boehner is just as much opposed to shutting off the spigot f loot going to the government as the dems are.

Instead it's the voters who are mostly pain stupid. Dem voters are so utterly retarded that they genuinely believe gvernment is useful for something beyond target practice, While equally stupid Rep voters believe a bunch of leeches living high off of big government are somehow genuinely interested in drastically shrinking it.
