"Whistle blowers" are generally unusually courageous, or else someone before them would have already blown the whistle. This guy called into a religious show, his conscience was probably getting to him and he spilled the beans that no one else in that "fraternity" is likely to spill. It is not like 30-45 days is all they have, they have been preparing for this for decades - at least.
Conversely, since 12-21 came and we are still here, it IS time to start peddling more "Apocalypse" gear to the survivalists. Take everything with a grain of salt, but his advise to "prepare to defend your family" is just sensible advise, on a good day in a free country.
