The thing is we all deserve hell because of our sin.
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Jesus said in John 3 that he who doesn't believe in the only begotten Son of God is condemned already. It's because human beings are under the condemnation of God because of their sins that Jesus came and died. It's not like God said, I'm going to send my Son to earth to live as a man and suffer and if you people don't believe in Him, I'm going to send you all to hell. People were already under the condemnation of God. God condemned Jesus for man's sin out of His love for mankind in order to offer man a way of escape from the condemnation he deserves.
