I have a different perspective or vantage point than most here. I am relatively young still, I am an ex liberal, and I spend a lot of time on college campuses. I see so much progress being made from where I stand, I see little point in defeatism.
There will always be dictators and corrupt governments. There will always be "Hitler" lurking somewhere, basically there will always be the bad stuff in life. I think it is important to know it is there, work like hell to fight it, and celebrate the good stuff because there is always good stuff also, such as the Colonists defeating the British Army or Ron Paul supporters flipping local GOP (which I have read you are trying to become active in, so thank you and good luck) groups.
