Rand sold himself to the GOP

and they bought him and have embraced him because of it.

He stands up for battles he finds most important (like the NDAA) and compromises on votes that he cannot change or influence like Iran Sanctions.

Its a damn tough job to please us and GOP voters. The GOP outnumbers the liberty movement and others usually change their votes more easily than us so it's understandable that Rand would rather piss us off to keep the GOP on his side than piss GOP leadership off and lose any chance at being a viable and influential politician.

There are reasons that Ron Paul didn't get a hole lot done in congress. Just as it's hard to get upvotes without upvoting others, its hard to get laws passed without voting for other people's laws.
