When you came into this world

When you came into this world you were the property of your parents. You remain such until such time as you can provide for yourself, there is no specific age at which this event happens. You parents have the right to do with you as they see fit. THEY made you a citizen through documents they signed. Upon reaching the age of emancipation YOU have the choice to remain a citizen or throw off that status that your parents gave you. The government assumes, and rightfully so, that if you do nothing to eliminate that status, then you must desire such status. If you follow their process (Title 8 USC paragraph 1481) you can remove that status. If you make no effort to do so, it is logical to assume that you desire to maintain your status.

The 14th Amendment applies VERY DIRECTLY to you by establishing a direct relationship between YOU (the citizen) and the Federal Government.
