You're making assumptions here and stating non-truths.

Assumption - most cops are good people.
Some are good people, the majority are not. Most become cops as a result of not being able to do something safer for more money, or because they're A holes and enjoy jerking folks around.

As a result of 9-11 and the drug war, all the typical idiot american zombies think we need MORE cops or we'll ALL DIE!!!!
SO,
their authority and place in society becomes magnified, thus throwing gasoline on the fire of borderline criminals/psychopaths(many cops).

We have no common ground with many of them JackieK. And YES they WILL confiscate your gun and shoot you in an instant if they think for ONE MINUTE that they are threatened in any way.
