Clearly the interviews are staged.

But I don't necessarily agree with what Rappoport says is the consequence. Re CT, in the case of all the staged parent interviews as to what "made their children special," that is, reporters supposedly manipulating them into not showing anger - I don't think seeing parents showing anger would have changed the gov't/media message about the need for gun control. If anything, I'd think it would support that stance. If anything, I'd think But I do think it contrives a sped-up grieving process that makes it appear that they've come to terms with things, giving the message to the public, if "they're" ready to put this behind them, so are you; that is, so stop questioning everything. (For the sake of argument, I'm assuming they actually are grieving parents.)

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.
